My Inspiration
Brett Roberts
M. I. T.
Brett studied puppetry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under Jim Henson Productions and is a member of the Puppeteers of America.

When I was in the fifth grade, I saw something astounding. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen, and little did I know, this event
would change my life forever.

My life's ambition would be based on this one event. What could I have seen that had such a strong impact on my life?

I saw Kermit The Frog riding a bicycle and I wondered how he was able to do that.
This was a magical moment.

So, my dream has been trying to create magical moments like that. By combining magic, special effects and puppetry I've been able to achieve
my dream.

I'd love to share that with you and hopefully
spark something in your imagination.

Here are a few projects I've worked on:

Several puppet characters listed here are copyright protected. They are owned by the companies who hired me to operate them. Those companies are listed below the testimonial. This is just a sample of the hundreds of projects I’ve worked on.

Chuck E Cheese Entertainment decided to use puppet characters on video monitors instead of animatronic robots. The new show has one animatronic Chuck E. Cheese and the rest of the characters appear on video monitors. For several years I’ve been the one who brought the puppet characters to life.

“I have used Brett for several Chuck E. Cheese's video productions and find him to be very capable, reliable and tremendously talented. In addition, Brett has a wonderful positive attitude that makes it nice to have him on the set. I would recommend him very highly for any work you may be considering.”

Commercials [ View Project ]

“I recently had the pleasure of working with Brett Roberts on a national commercial spot for the Department of Energy. Brett was part of the local puppeteer crew that helped us perform various “pig” puppets known as the “Hog Commandoes”. Brett’s performance played a key role in pulling off some of the more difficult shots in the commercial. I would recommend Brett Roberts to anyone who is seeking a top puppeteer talent.”

Educational Shows

“Brett Roberts put on an excellent show that got our students excited about reading. The students were engaged for the entire 45 minute program. Mr. Roberts’ production was as humorous as it was educational.”

Fairs and Festivals

“This letter is to thank you for the wonderful strolling magic you provided at our -Kids at Heart – Texas! event in March 2006. I was able to speak with a few children in attendance who were thrilled and amazed by your magic abilities. They believed you were the “coolest” part of the whole event. Forget the bounce houses, games and candy! We appreciated your professionalism and are so very glad you were able to accommodate our request to stay an extra hour to continue entertaining the children...”

Zoo Shows

For several years I provided shows for the Fort Worth Zoo’s Zoolidays, Zoobilee of Lights, and Boo at the Zoo as well as other special events. These are pictures of just two of those shows.

"On behalf of the board of directors, and the animals, at the Fort Worth Zoo, we would like to thank you for providing such wonderful entertainment... We appreciate your continued support of the Fort Worth Zoo and look forward to working with you again soon!"

Ana Bargoth,
Fort Worth Zoo

Holiday Events

Every year I perform Christmas magic shows dressed as Santa. These shows have been seen at fairs, festivals, libraries and other special events.

“…Brett was amazing and all of the parents raved on and on about him. I would definitely like to get him next year. He was a delight! Thank you again!

Animatronic Shows

One of the most fun jobs I’ve had was providing voices and the animation for animatronic characters at ShowBiz Pizza Place. These puppets were operated by remote control so they could interact with the children watching the show. I also had the honor of providing voices for one of their prerecorded shows where a computer did the animation. These characters are owned and built by Creative Engineering.

Theme Park Shows

John Hardman Productions once produced a puppet show I had the privilege of working on. It was at Six Flags Over Texas. I performed marionettes, hand puppets, rod puppets and others. This show led to other theme park work including heckle shows, holiday shows and magic shows. Doing shows six times a day helped me become a good performer.

A few Libraries I’ve worked for:

“Enjoyed the show! The kids were entertained and felt like part of the act.”

Marie Noe
Abilene Public Library

“The show was very well received by the kids. We all thought it was pretty awesome. Thanks for bringing us a good time… ”

Suzanne Fisk

“Thank you so much for visiting the Southeast Branch Library. Your Santa costume and Scrooge puppet were awesome.”

Sharon Granado
Arlington Southeast Branch Library

"I wish to extend my personal "thank you" for your participation in the library's 65th anniversary celebration. Your talent provided one of the highlights of the entire program. Because of your interest and involvement, the event was an outstanding success. Thank you again."

Jack A. Corliss
Arlington Public Library

“Thank you for coming this far to present a wonderful program. You were able to handle all ages and hold there attention. I love the stage with the backdrop and that you used a microphone. Very professional. I got really good feedback from the parents and the children. The use of interaction really thrills the children. I liked your promptness and the preshow.”

Terry Holbert
Electra Public Library

“The show was great! Even though our presentation area is small and the crowd was large, Brett was successful in keeping the crowds attention. Everyone enjoyed it so much. We have received great positive feedback!”

Becky Benidect
Krum Public Library

“How can one improve perfect? The Piracy 101 had everyone belly laughing. All, from the 5-year-old to “a-lady-never-reveals-her-age” crowd, had fun. We had excellent crowd participation: very classy to have “someone from the audience” to be a helper. The crowd enjoyed good volume projection.”

Jeanne Green
Bedford Public Library

“Thank you for a wonderful performance! The children thoroughly enjoyed it and could not stop laughing. I liked how you tied the library and reading into your program – especially when you said that you learned magic through reading books. Again, thanks for a great show! We had nothing but positive feedback regarding Piracy 101.”

Mary Rodne
Colleyville Public Library

“I thought you did a great job! I know it makes it kind of difficult when the ages vary so much. You seemed to be able to keep their attention. We look forward to having you back some time, hopefully in our new building!”

Elaine Turbo
Aubrey Area Library

“I thought you were wonderful! Your costume and presentation were first rate! I will definitely be calling you for a return performance! I also enjoyed visiting with you before the show. I think you are fabulous!”

Betty Hobbs
Cleburne Public Library

“You were great. Your magic was so much fun. The kids also loved the puppets… Plan to have you back next year with one of your other programs. Thanks.”

Linda Voss
Azle Public Library

“Everything went great. The kids really loved your performance. We had a final count of 112 kids! I’m told we’ve never had so many kids for the summer reading program since this library opened. You did great. I would certainly have you come back here again.”

Carol Barham
Ponder Public Library

“Great show! Really liked the audience participation and participant interaction. Received very positive feedback.”

Cheryl Beesinger
Archer Public Library

“Thank you for being a part of the Frisco Public Library’s reading program 2005. Our patrons both the young and the young at heart, thoroughly enjoyed their “lessons” in Pirate School, from the proper storage of treasure maps to the correct choreography of a pirate jig (and how not to lose your head in the process). Our library encourages reading for “Edutainment” and your show was a catalyst for interests ranging from pirates to magic to puppets. Your performance was definitely a favorite! Thank you for helping make Frisco’s Summer Reading Program a success!”

Jenny Crane
Frisco Public Library

“What can I say!? You were wonderful! You were very professional – from your prompt response in booking to your early arrival and setup for the show. I loved the way you involved the children in your show. You also did a great job of sparking the children’s interest by showing them the “squeaker” in your hand at the beginning of the show. Thanks for a wonderful day! Events like this are why I love my job!”

Christina Kelly
Hood County Library

“I got lots of great comments from both shows you did here. I am looking forward to having you here again, either in summer again (perhaps for a family program this time!) or perhaps at Christmas next year. You have an easy report with the kids… And, your professionalism is terrific! And to think, we have you in our neck of the woods- how lucky for this area!”

Hurst Public Library
